Boat season is here and I am ready to put my kayak into the river! Cold water and all. Although early in the boating season, a couple MA and Southern NH rivers are best navigated in the early spring, and get too shallow come mid-summer.
While I was out on my kayak this past weekend it got me thinking about my clients with boats and how to best provide them with coverage.
There are a few questions boat owners should ask themselves before starting the process of selecting insurance
Certain types of boats have coverage for liability included by a homeowners policy at no charge. Some type of boats are restricted to liability coverage only while stored at your home. The minute the watercraft leaves your yard, your liability coverage may not follow you.
Liability and hull coverages can be available in a few different ways, depending on the type and size of watercraft. Some can be insured by adding an endorsement to a home policy, while other require separate coverage.

Remember, after you check your watercraft over for "sea worthiness", check your policy for coverage!
