A motor Vehicle is stolen every 44 seconds in the United States.  Do you know if you have coverage?  Theft is covered in the Comprehensive section of the auto insurance policy, subject to your deductible.  Comprehensive is usually a very reasonably priced coverage on your policy but it is optional on the policy, you are not required to carry the coverage unless you have a loan on your vehicle. Also covered under Comprehensive is vandalism, which can include damages from someone trying to steal your car.
