New Englander's are preparing for the holidays and what this winter may bring! Just a reminder that homeowner policies do not cover worker's hired to help around your home or damage they may cause. Whether you need the yard raked, roof replaced or are planning ahead for snow removal services- make sure the person or organization has their own insurance. Request a certificate of insurance. The certificate should show liability coverage and worker's compensation insurance, both a MUST before hiring someone.
The HO3 homeowners form includes the following language under Section 1 EXCLUSIONS-
2. We do not insure for loss to property described in Coverages A and B caused by any of the following...
***c. Faulty, inadequate or defective:
(1) Planning, zoning, development, surveying, siting;
(2) Design, specifications, workmanship, repair,
construction, renovation, remodeling,
(3) Materials used in repair, construction, renovation
or remodeling; or
of part or all of any property whether on or off
the "residence premises."
